Dominic is the Chairperson of Aon’s Diversity Council and sponsor of the Gender IQ Business Resource Group which was renamed from the Women’s International Network in 2019 to encourage more men to get involved and champion gender equality. In addition to Aon, Dominic is the chairman of Inclusion@Lloyd’s and was instrumental in the launch of The Dive In Festival – an annual celebration of diversity which in 2019 saw events take place in 60 cities across 32 countries, with over 10,000 attendees. Dominic played a significant role in launching a cross-industry Inclusive Behaviors in Insurance Pledge, asking films in the industry to sign up and demonstrate their commitment to a culture where inclusive behaviors are the norm. Dominic is also involved with a women’s non-profit organization “Lift as You Climb” which promotes and advises women on career advancement.
Dominic has personally signed up to the 30% Club, signed Aon’s Gender Pay Gap Report, and signed Aon up to the Women in Finance Charter. Aon has also signed up to The Diversity Project, which drives gender parity in the investment sector, and is keenly involved in the programme. Dominic is the overall executive sponsor of all seven Business Resource Groups (BRGs) and the lead of the Diversity Council at Aon, whose extremely active gender network recently changed its name to Gender IQ to encourage male participation. Dominic mentors eight women, and as part of the Sponsorship Programme, sponsors three senior females on a regular and engaged basis. He also mentors a female actuary, who is a rising star at Aon, and is reverse mentored by a female apprentice. Aon’s target is to reach 30% female representation on their senior leadership team by 2020, and they have a number of strategies in place to support this, such as an inclusive early careers programme. Externally, he is the Chairman of Inclusion@Lloyds, a committed group of senior individuals from across the insurance industry who champion diversity and inclusion. He was instrumental in the launch of the Dive In Festival – an annual celebration of diversity which in 2017 saw 80 events take place in 17 countries and 32 cities. On International Women’s Day, Dominic hosted various events at Aon, and an industry-wide one, with Inclusion@Lloyds.
As Chair of Aon’s Multi-cultural network, Siva leads the inclusion and equality agenda focussing on raising the profile of the unique challenges faced by BAME women within the Insurance and Financial Services sector. The network recently launched a speaker series focussing on C-Suite executives sharing their success stories on building diverse teams, driving collaboration and ultimately business results. Siva has a passion mentoring, and currently mentors entrepreneurial women through her involvement in community networks and provide them with the guidance and strategic advice to achieve growth within their business. In 2017, Siva won the Rising Star Award within Investment Management as part of the We Are The City initiative.
Dominic is the overall executive sponsor of Aon Business Resource Groups, including the Women’s International Network, and the lead of the Diversity Council. He encourages managers to recognise the necessity of diverse management approaches, and promote a culture of inclusiveness. As part of the Sponsorship Programme which champions the careers of high potential female talent, he mentors three senior females on a regular basis. In November 2016 Aon hosted a HeForShe event with high profile speakers, and at that event Dominic made his personal HeForShe Pledge to speak at a school/university/college once a month on gender equality. He has hosted a dinner at Aon for the Insurance Supper Club, a body of senior females in the insurance industry, and also hosted an event for Philanthropy Impact to encourage investment in women’s charities and causes. Outside Aon, he is the chairman of Inclusion@Lloyds, and was instrumental in the launch of the DiveIn Festival – an annual celebration of diversity which, in 2016, saw 66 events take place in 10 countries. Last year he was President of the Institute of London and spoke at Mansion House to 400 high profile city figures on the importance of gender inclusion in the City of London.
